How to convert SVG to PNG

Turn a vector SVG into a PNG image
SVG is perfect on the web, but plenty of places still refuse it: WhatsApp and most chat apps, Word and PowerPoint, marketplace listings, printers, and older versions of Windows preview. Exporting a PNG solves all of them. Because SVG is vector, you get to choose the resolution at export time — the drawing is redrawn at whatever size you ask for, not stretched.
Which size should you export?
Decide how large the image will appear, then export at 2× that. A logo shown 200 pixels wide should be exported around 400 pixels so it stays crisp on a phone or a Retina laptop. For print, aim much higher — 3× or 4×, or type an exact width. There is no quality penalty for exporting larger; only the file size grows.
Transparent or white background?
Leave it transparent for logos and icons that will sit on a coloured page or a dark theme. Choose white when the PNG goes into a document, a print job, or anywhere a see-through background would look odd. If you need a JPG rather than a PNG, export with the white background first — JPG cannot store transparency at all.
Fonts and linked images
Browsers deliberately refuse to load anything external into an SVG while converting it, so a design that links to a Google Font or an outside image will export with those parts missing. In your design tool, convert text to outlines (paths) and embed images inside the SVG before exporting — then everything renders exactly as you see it.

Yes, if you leave the background transparent. Choose white only when the PNG will sit on a light background and you want no see-through areas.
Why does my exported PNG look blurry?
PNG is a fixed-resolution format, so it only looks sharp at the size you exported. Export at a larger size, or 2x, if it will be displayed big.
My SVG uses a custom font or a linked image and it came out wrong. Why?
For security, browsers do not load external fonts or images into an SVG that is being converted. Embed the font as paths, or embed the image inside the SVG, and try again.
Can I convert SVG to JPG instead?
